The Regular Toe grab, 5.5mm, is almost always used on dirt surfaces in North America and in countries that have dirt tracks. It is very common to find the regular toe insert on the hind shoe only but in some cases it is used in the front, especially in the Quarter Horse racing market. Farriers will often use the regular toe hind with an XT or low toe front.
